Mike Sonksen, aka Mike the PoeT, is the Coordinator of the First Year Experience Program at Woodbury University where he teaches Interdisciplinary Studies. His latest book Letters to My City was published by Writ Large Press. He’s written for Poets & Writers, Alta, Metropolis, Wax Poetics, PBS, LA Review of Books, and the Academy of American Poets. His next book project examines the history of Los Angeles Poetry.

Visionary writer/artist, Steven Juliano, prides himself as one of the top graphic designers in the industry today, with over twenty years experience in graphic art and animation. Steven's extensive client list includes Disney, HBO, Showtime, Sony, Universal, and is a commissioned album artist for many major label bands.

 

After years of touring the world as lead singer of the metal/punk powerhouse group "I Am Ghost" (Epitaph Records), Steven returned to his hometown of Santa Cruz, CA and started his own design studio in 2010.

The Nervous Ghost Press Prize for Poetry is open to all writers in the United States of America. All work must be unpublished, original, and written by one author.

General Guidelines: Full & complete manuscript of 48 to 128 pages; PDF document with title page, table of contents, and numbered pages; please do not include any artwork or other visual aspects (if your work is chosen, these can be added later); $0 reading fee. All finalists will be considered for publication.

Prize: $1000, Publication, author copies, and a California Reading Tour.
